Day 1

After breakfast we leave the hotel towards “Copan Ruinas” (7.30 a.m.). Leaving the city we will see some of the industrial fabrics, making this city so important for the country. On our way to the western Honduras you will enjoy the natural beauty of Honduras, till we arrive in the famous little village.

After lunch we will explore the “Macaw Bird” park or a Chortí cooperative; optional.
Back to hotel.
If you like to go out at nights, Copan Ruins has a small but nice nightlife with bars and discotheques.

Day 2

After breakfast we start our visit to the archaeological park of Copan where you will observe the splendid culture, UN world heritage since 1980. The Maya of Copan are famous for their steles and of course because of its hieroglyphic stairway.
We hike the park also enjoying the beauty of this place, located in the middle of the valley. Then, we take our chance to see some of the original findings in the museum
After our visit to the park and its museum we start our ride towards Santa Bárbara, on our way we make a stop over in the little community of “Ilama”. In this little village we will have the pleasure to watch the people producing their typical hats, hammocks and other handicrafts made out of Junco, Palm and other local materials.

Day 3

The next morning starts with a little tour up the hills located just behind the city to the “Castillo Bográn”, the land house of Luis Bográn, president of Honduras during the 1880’s. From here we can enjoy an impressive panorama view over the city. Then we visit a nearby coffee farm. Here we get the chance to “live” the coffee business. Observing the complete toasting procedure and tasting its product directly and fresh. A nice way to experience this famous drink.

After this visit we start our trip to “Comayagua”, the former capital of the country. On the way we make a stop over at the caves of “Taulabé”. We take the chance of exploring a small part of this mystical place observing the multitude of different formed stalagmites and stalactites during thousands of years.

Day 4

After breakfast we explore this colonial centre of “Comayagua”, visiting the cathedrals and museums.
Free time in the afternoon.

Day 5

After breakfast we leave towards “San Pedro Sula”, making a stop-over at Lake Yojoa for lunch. Here you can get delicious fried fresh fish from the lake. At the same place we can visit the unique D&D Micro Brewery, where an expatriated American is producing his own beer. Normally he offers around four different flavors.
